Corporate Social Responsibility

LBC believes that we are responsible for the impact of our decisions and activities on society and the environment. We are committed to conducting our activities ethically and transparently such that we meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Our mission is simple:

To create a sustainable and proactive culture in which all risks are identified and treated responsibly in such a way that the positive impact of our decisions and activities on society is maximized and any negative impacts are minimized.

Corporate Social Responsibility Program

To this end, we have a dynamic Corporate Social Responsibility Governance Program that focuses on:

  • contributing to sustainable development including health and the welfare of society
  • the expectations of stakeholders
  • being compliant with applicable law and consistent with international norms of behavior
  • integration throughout the organization and practiced in our relationships

We believe in a “holistic” approach to corporate governance. For this purpose, we have a Corporate Social Responsibility Group comprising individuals with diverse expertise to ensure that the context in which we operate and in which risks present themselves is fully understood and managed responsibly.

Transparency and Integrity

We conduct all our activities transparently and with integrity. We have policies in place to ensure that possible conflicts of interest are reported directly, that competition is fair, and that we do not commit or succumb to bribery or corruption in any form.

LBC Environment

Health and Safety

Our motto is “Always Safe Never Sorry”. We believe that all fatalities, injuries and occupational illnesses are preventable. We believe that everybody has the right to a safe working environment and that everybody should return home safe and well at the end of every day to the people they care about. Safety is a core value that must be part of all decision making at all levels within the organization. Everybody has a responsibility and is enabled to make responsible decisions. To this end we invest a great deal of time in our sustainable safety behavior program in which everybody who works on an LBC facility is coached to recognize hazards, report unsafe situations and carry out successful safety dialogue in order to ensure our working environment is a safe place.

Environmental

Our aim is that there is no such thing as a dangerous product, at least not when under our care. We believe in minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment and protecting the welfare of the neighbors in the communities where we operate. We reduce and control emissions and accidental releases of products and we comply with all local and national regulations.

Energy

We believe in conserving natural resources and are committed to using energy responsibly and managing our carbon footprint.
