LBC Freeport (terminal under construction)

In 2018, LBC announced the development of LBC Freeport Terminal LLC. The new terminal will be located adjacent to MEGlobal’s world-scale monoethylene glycol (MEG) manufacturing plant and connected by pipeline. The terminal will be located 97 km (60 miles) south of Houston at MEGlobal’s new Oyster Creek site in Freeport, Texas.  

LBC Freeport LLC will be an integrated part of MEGlobal’s Supply Chain, secured through a long-term contract. The main products to be handled are monoethylene glycol and diethylene glycol. The terminal is planned to be operational the second half of 2019.

Facts & figures

- Liquid storage capacity: 100,000 m³ (639,000 barrels)

- Tank sizes range from 320 m³ (2,000 barrels) to 26,000 m³ (165,000 barrels)
