LBC Rotterdam – New jetty operational

14 May 2018

The LBC Tank Terminals Group is currently focused on expanding our LBC Rotterdam site in the Botlek area of Rotterdam, the petrochemical heart of the Port. The aim of our project known as ‘Rainbow’ is to triple the current capacity and significantly improve jetty and land infrastructure.  This project adheres to the three pillars of our business strategy (build-out, further optimize, expand) and reflects LBC Rotterdam’s ambition to be the safest and most efficient terminal in the Port of Rotterdam when it comes to ship-to-shore interface and ship-turnaround times. The first phase of this expansion project is close to completion. The first new tanks became fully operational over one month ago and the terminal recently accomplished another major milestone with the birthing of the first vessel at the brand-new jetty.

This jetty is a result of a constructive collaboration between the Port of Rotterdam and LBC Tank Terminals and is an essential asset to meet the demands of our customers and facilitate the growth ambitions of the LBC Rotterdam site.

During the coming months we will focus on our Product Transfer Program in which we will connect all existing tanks to the new jetty and demolish the redundant jetty. Upon completion of this phase, the new jetty will be extended such that four berthing positions will be available; two for seagoing vessels and two for barges.

To realize our vision of creating a sustainable future for LBC, all its employees and customers, we will continue our expansion with new project phases. The provisional plans are currently under review by our engineering team.
